ATMOSPHERE: Genre: Hip-hop Biography: Atmosphere is a group that comprimises of the Emcee Slug, along with his Dj named Ant. The beginnings of Atmosphere started out diffrently, the orginal group composed of Slug, Seth Patrick, and Seth Green. The group started out as small time Djs and Mcs performing where ever they could. But as they became bigger, they won the attention and admiration of other higher ranking emcees in the business. The groups vision of becoming professional came true when they were introduced to a rapper named Musab, Musab introduced them to a Dj/producer named Ant. Slug soon after, started to practice with Ant, and he began to produce and record tracks at Ants studio. When slug was under this label, he released a number of underground mixtapes. Everything was going okay, but not all the members in Atmosphere were pleased using other studios to record their albums. this led to the rise of Rhymesayers Ent, Atmospheres own record label and recording studio.

Atmosphere mainly likes to talk about relationships, childhood mischeif, and stories that the group members went through in their lives. The people of the suburbs, mostly relate to them, and even some church goers as well, making them a one of a kind group. Critical evaluation: Atmosphere has a unique style that touches upon subjects that most artists wouldnt touch upon, the group touches base with the white middle class community, as well as the urban community by their topics, and means of expression. As a folower of the group, i think that their style will last in the future, as long as there is a fan base.
Personal opinion: Atmosphere relates to me because i live in the suburbs as well, and like Slug, i was never the most popular kid in school. It makes me feel like im not the only one, when im feeling down, i put on a heavy dose of Atmospere to guide me in the right direction.
